I honestly have no idea. Does that cable allow the phone to be used as a modem? What you want to do is try using HyperTerminal (Start/Programs/Accessories/Communications), and see if HyperTerminal can talk to a modem on the COM port. Basically, select the COM port, pick a speed (115200 is usually ok). Once you've connected, hit Enter a few times. Then type ATZ and press Enter ... if there is a modem there, you should get an OK response. To test if the modem supports SMS, type AT+CSMS=0 and press Enter ... also AT+CMGF=0 and press Enter. Both of those should return OK if it is a modem that support SMS. (I know the 6820 can work as a GSM modem, I've used it as one over Bluetooth with NowSMS ... I just don't know how the CA-42 cable differs from the DKU-5.) -bn |
