NowSMS can receive MMS messages over a GSM/GPRS modem, or via a connection to an operator MMSC (MM7, EAIF). A GSM/GPRS modem is a specialised device that accepts a SIM card and operates over a subscription to a mobile operator, the same as a mobile phone. Many mobile phones have built in GSM modem capabilities, but the modem capabilities in the phone invariably do not support receiving MMS over this interface (because of interference from the MMS client in the mobile phone). So you need a dedicated GSM/GPRS modem device, such as the Siemens MC35 Terminal, Wavecom or Multitech GSM/GPRS modems, Nokia 30/31, etc. Or there are also PC card options ... one of my favourites are the Sierra Wireless Aircards because their architecture allows for simultaneous GPRS and SMS which speeds up MMS retrieval. When NowSMS receives an MMS message, there are several different options for how it is posted to your application. These options are explained in the following link: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/2_way_mms_support.htm |
