Hi, I am a newbie to the MMS field and am trying to develop a client for MMS. I am trying to figure out if I can use the Direct-Delivery feature of NowSMS to test my MMS client. My doubt is this - Do I need a GSM modem to get the Direct-Delivery feature by setting up the NowSMS as my test MMSC? The documentaion page http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm suggested in another thread mentions that for Direct-Delivery the MMSC will send and SMS notification to the recipient. Does that mean that it is compulsory to have a GSM modem connected to NowSMS? Advance Thanks.

The MMS Notification is transmitted over WAP push. In a typical environment, the WAP push is sent over SMS. So a GSM modem is a good way to handle this. But for controlled environments, it is also possible to dispatch the WAP push over IP. See http://www.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/4184.html
