Hi,

If a MMS message fails to send out, NOWSMS will attempt to resend it for a few times, sometimes up more than 10 times(can be seen from 'RetryCount') before putting the MMS message into "Error" directory. Therefore, how can I change the number of attempts performed by NowSMS gateway? So that it will not keep retrying too many times.

Thanks in advance

Hi Nicholas,

Unfortunately, there is no setting for this.

I assume that you are referring to the MMS Outbound Routing queue (VASPQ directory), which contains messages that are being routed to an external MMSC connection (EAIF, MM1, MM4, MM7). By default, retries will be performed for 24 hours, with the retry interval moving from 1 minute to 2 minutes to 3 minutes, up to 15 minutes per retry.

It is a bit ridiculous that we don't have a max retry settings here, so I'm going to check into getting one added.

Follow-up. There is an update that adds some options for this retry logic.
