we use the application to send OTA for syncml synchronization between mobile phones and a server. we would like to know whether it is possible to embed an advert clip in the OTA flow so that instead of showing 'sync in progress' on the phone, the advert clip/s are shown instead.

Hi,

I do not think that is possible.

The SyncML OTA message is just a trigger. Upon notfication, the SyncML client on the device initiates a data connection to the SyncML server.

I'm not aware of any feature in the protocol that would allow you to display a message during the sync process.
