We have a problem our SMSc only understands submit_sm not data_sm. How do I configure NowSMSc to send SMPP submit_sm format? | |||

By default NowSMS uses submit_sm, there is no configuration required. Data_sm is only used if WDP Adaptation is enabled for a connection. | |||

If WDP Adaptation is configured for a connection, then WAP push and other port addressed messages are submitted using data_sm. That is what the WDP Adaptation spec states. I am guessing that you are using this setting for a different purpose. It also has the side effect of submitting long messages in a single transaction. There is no way to configure the use of WDP Adaptation without it using data_sm for port addressed messages. Perhaps as an alternative you could not use WDP Adaptation but use TLV parameters for segmentation. (I am assuming that you are trying to avoid segmentation but I do not know why, perhaps it is because of UDH problems or garbled long messages, which can have other solutions.) (You seem very frustrated by the tone of your questions.
