For direct delivery, NowSMS only uses a combination of SMS and WAP technology, and only a GSM modem and a direct internet connection is required.
For connections via an operator MMSC, NowSMS requires a modem with GPRS support. Older Wavecom GSM/GPRS modems may require a firmware update. If NowSMS complains that "Warning: Modem is not responding to GPRS commands.", then your modem may require a firmware update to properly support GPRS. According to information posted in other threads, 5.20 or later of Wavecom firmware is required for proper GPRS support.
