Hi, In order to use the ability to connect to an operator MMSC over GPRS, you need to install a Windows modem driver for the modem. (It won't work with the modem configured just as COM1 Many external GSM modems don't come with a modem driver, but you can use one of the standard ones from Windows. Just go into the Windows Control Panel, and select Phone & Modem Options. Add a modem, and tell Windows not to detect your modem, but to let you select from a list. The Standard 33600 bps Modem driver works well with most modems. Some modems that require you to connect at a lower speed require the "Standard 9600 bps" or "Standard 19200 bps" driver. (The 57600 driver should be avoided, as it tries to send some extra AT commands out that a GSM modem will not understand.) Verify that the driver is installed correctly by select "Properties"/"Diagnostics", and verify that you can "Query Modem" successfully. Then add the named modem driver as the "SMSC" connection in NowSMS instead of using the COM port driver. -bn |
