By some miracle, is there anyone from support or on this list that can verify whether the aforementioned modem works with Vodafone NZ? The modem seems to working okay on a fresh install of Windows XP (SP1) and the query response is """ ATQ0V1E0 - OK AT+GMM - MULTIBAND G850 1900 AT+FCLASS=? - +FCLASS: (0,1,2) AT#CLS=? - success AT+GCI? - success AT+GCI=? - success ATI1 - success ATI2 - success ATI3 - 657d09gg.Q24PL001 1956364 052907 16:50 ATI4 - Q:0 V:1 S0:000 S2:043 S3:013 S4:010 S5:008 +CR:0 +CRC:0 +CMEE:0 +CBST:0,0,1 +SPEAKER:0 +ECHO:0,1 &C:1 &D:2 %C:0 +IPR:0 +ICF:3,4 +IFC:0,0 ATI5 - Q:0 V:1 S0:000 S2:043 S3:013 S4:010 S5:008 +CR:0 +CRC:0 +CMEE:0 +CBST:0,0,1 +SPEAKER:0 +ECHO:0,1 &C:1 &D:2 %C:0 +IPR:0 +ICF:3,4 +IFC:0,0 ATI6 - DATA RATES: AUTOBAUD,300,1200,1200/75,2400,4800,9600,14400 DATA MODES: T/NT,ASYNCHRONOUS FAX CLASS: 1,2 ATI7 - SPEECH CODINGS: FR,EFR,AMR """ But no go ... When trying issuing 'AT+CGDONT="1","IP","live.vodafone.com"' in Hyperterminal it responses with 'ERROR'. Throwing a 'AT+CEER' at it I get '+CEER: Error 226' which according to reference documents means "NWK requested detach". Obviously someone doesn't want to play nicely (or make my life easier). Lately (after uninstalling modem, reinstalling modem, etc) NowSMS started spitting back with a "Unable to initialize modem: Error 800000018 from liveGetID" message. Logs provides no joy. Just found this post http://www.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/23045.html on the LineGetID issues. Unfortunately I need to be able to send and receive SMS and MMS. The LineGetID issue is erratic though, sometimes it pops up other times NowSMS is 'happy as larry'. |

Should this post be moved to the Non-Product Support list instead? I'm keen to get the Multitech modem working with NowSMS. Kiwi |
