I'm evaluating the trail version of smslite at the moment. One of the things I would like to do is to enable delivery receipts for all SMPP originated messages. I tried adding ReceiptRequested=Yes to smsgw.ini, but it appears, from another thread, that this flag only works for http traffic. Is it possible to set default delivery receipts for SMPP in SMSLite, and if so, how? Many thanks | |||

Hi John, Yes, there is a setting to force the delivery receipt flag to be turned on, even if the originating SMPP client did not set it. Edit SMSGW.INI, and if there is not an existing [SMPP] section header in the file, add one. Then, under the [SMPP] header, add DefaultDelReceipt=Yes That setting will work the same way in NowSMS Lite as in the standard edition. It causes NowSMS to treat all messages submitted from an SMPP client as if the registered_delivery flag is set (receipt requested). -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Des, thanks for that The situation has taken a strange turn, however, as I discovered this morning that the network we use (O2 in the UK) doesn't support delivery receipt requests using things as mundane as standards. If you want a delivery receipt from them, you need to prefix each message with *0# - obvious really  Fortunately, the software we're using will let us do this, so we should be ok. | |||

Hi John, I suppose I should try this myself with an O2 SIM. But I'm curious, is it a standard format receipt that comes back when you do this, or is it something non-standard? If the receipt that comes back is standard format, I'd be inclined to get us to add an option that inserts the prefix when a receipt is requested. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
