Is it possible to user Now.Wap to change the useragent of the phone before it gets to the site it's reaching?

No, the user-agent is passed unchanged.

What are you trying to accomplish through changing it?

Having issues with phones that have user agents that aren't recognized with sites making them uncompatible.
