We are running a WTLS version of WAP3GX WAP gateway over GPRS, and we have noticed that the sessions on the gateway stay active for quite a while even though the user has ended the connection. Is there a way to change that timeout so that it is shorter, and the inactive user sessions are terminated after e.g. 1 minute? |

You can ... but ... beware that most WTLS client implementations that we have tested cannot successfully recover from a session that has dropped, forcing the user to reconnect to the server (it can be particularly confusing to a user with the Nokia 7650/3650). The following configuration setting can be entered into the WAPGW.INI file under the [WAPGW] section header. SessionTimeout=#### This setting specifies a timeout value, in minutes, after which a gateway session will be automatically timed out. The default value is 10 minutes. Use caution when setting this value to lower values, as while most clients will automatically reconnect after a session timeout, some clients will report an error message. - Kent Williams WAP3GX Support |
