What protocol is used between the PPG and a MMSC? Is it a propietary protocol?

Hi Robert,

As I mentioned over in this thread:

http://www.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/2686.html

An MMSC does not have to go through a PPG, it can deliver the push directly.

By default, our MMSC (in the Now SMS/MMS Gateway), delivers MMS notifications directly over GSM SMS.

It also has an option to use PAP through a push proxy gateway (http://www.nowsms.com/support/bulletins/tb-nowsms-007.htm), but at this time, that is primarily an option that is made available for CDMA environments, as otherwise there is no real value add for a PPG.
