Hi!

Any one can tell me the different between a WML Push message (containing the url of a mms) and a MMS notification.

Hi,

A standard WAP push message normally contains a push body of the content type "application/vnd.wap.sic" (Service Indication push), and sometimes of the content type "application/vnd.wap.slc" (Service load push). These content types are defined in the WAP specifications published by the Open Mobile Alliance (http://www.openmobilealliance.org).

An MMS notification is sent via WAP push, but the body of the WAP push is of the content type "application/vnd.wap.mms-message", with an MMS message type of "m-notification-ind", as defined by the MMS Encapsulation Specification, also part of the WAP specifications published by the Open Mobile Alliance.

When a WAP push message is received by a handset, different actions can occur based upon the content type inside the push (sometimes the application id is also consulted). Service indication and service load messages are routed to the WAP browser, while MMS notifications are routed to the MMS client.
