Hi there, my name is Dami and I am new on the board. I run an SMS service in my country. I'd like to know what the requirements are to have ur own SMS Gateway with which you can send SMS. How much does an SMS Gateway cost averagely?

Hi again, do you guys know any solution that can convert SMS to voice and vice versa and is there any solution that can be configured to convert SMS language from english to any other configured language.

SMS gateway costs depends on which country you're doing business in. I deliver SMS gateways with coverage's in more than 250 countries, and prices depends. Like in Norway/denmark a SMS costs with our smallest prices, 0,014 EUROs. in another country it might cost 0,06 Euro's. Thats about 75% more.
So it all depends, but if you're writing what country you are looking for an SMS gateway in i might give you som answers and also an offer. |

I am delivering to Nigeria. The price i am asking for is the price of the gateway itself not individual SMS.

Well, an SMS gateway can work in atleast three diffrent ways. You have the most standard one, with HTTP access. Wich is easyest, and you'll get you're own gateway with alphanumeric sender id's as often. You can sms gateway with SMPP connection, which works simply at the same way with some extra features some places, wich requires you to example use NowSMS software to connect the SMPP server.
And another way is these GSM Modems, which requires that you have a Sim-card, that you put in the GSM modem and configures it to work as an sms gateway. That way you need to follow the prices which is dealed with the operator in the simCard, and you wont be able to send from any other id's than the ONE number you get. I also bet the prices there are higher each sms than in the SMS gateways. Prices for those GSM modems i dont know, i never delivered those, but its not that expensive. An HTTP & SMPP gateway you can easly buy very cheap. Our costs at these ones is about 10 EURO's each month, and a sms price about 0,05 Each sms, which will get cheaper and cheaper, that depends on how much traficc you got. |
