Hi Keith, Thanks. I have another question. My company is thinking of distributing our apps (written in C for the Series60/Symbian platform) to allow our subscribers to download OVER-THE-AIR. We know J2ME can be distributed via JAD/JAR, but how to do it for C apps in .SIS file format? Or rather what product you have that can allow me to accomplish the above? Thanks | |||

Peter, .SIS files are handled the same way, or at least in a similar way as .JAR/.JAD files. If you are going to have them downloaded from a particular content server, that content server needs to be configured so that it knows to use the MIME type of "application/vnd.symbian.install" for ".sis" files. When the phone downloads the file, it wants to see the MIME type in place rather than the extension. You could also post a .SIS file through the Multimedia WAP push function in NowSMS. -bn | |||
