Hi Keith,

Thanks.

I have another question. My company is thinking of distributing our apps (written in C for the Series60/Symbian platform) to allow our subscribers to download OVER-THE-AIR. We know J2ME can be distributed via JAD/JAR, but how to do it for C apps in .SIS file format?

Or rather what product you have that can allow me to accomplish the above?

Thanks

Peter,

.SIS files are handled the same way, or at least in a similar way as .JAR/.JAD files. If you are going to have them downloaded from a particular content server, that content server needs to be configured so that it knows to use the MIME type of "application/vnd.symbian.install" for ".sis" files.

When the phone downloads the file, it wants to see the MIME type in place rather than the extension.

You could also post a .SIS file through the Multimedia WAP push function in NowSMS.
