Hello, I am trying to use the NowSMS software on a corperate LAN that is protected by a firewall/NAT gateway to the internet. I have a SMPP account setup but I am unable to connect. Does anyone have any experience with the network setup needed to make this work. I believe that I need to open a port on the NAT to allow my SMPP connection out. Should that be TCP or UDP?? Is there a specific port number or do I use the one provided by the SMPP provider (Clickatell)? Doug |

Doug, You definitely need to open up some ports, the port that Clickatell gave you plus port 80 should be ok. |

Doug, The ports need to be TCP. |

Hi Doug, Keith's reply is correct. There is no extra special ports that are used for an SMPP connection, the gateway just needs to be able to generate a TCP connection out to the port number that is specified by the service provider. -bn |
