Hi, I have several GSM Cellulars that works just fine with the NOWSMS. I have a new Cellular which I'm trying to connect and use Motorola iDEN i730. I have installed its USB Modem driver but when I try to test it and use it with the NowSMS I get the error that I cannt send SMS with that modem. With other software and directly from the i730 I can send SMS. Please advise. Thanks in advance, Lee |

Hi Lee, The GSM modem interface in NowSMS follows the standard AT commands defined for GSM/GPRS in ETSI GSM 07.05 and for WCDMA in 3GPP TS 27.005. iDEN is a different technology. I've done some limited research, and downloaded an iDEN AT command specification from Motorola, but there is no mention of any SMS support in that particular specification. I suspect Motorola has a proprietary interface for sending SMS over iDEN devices, but I don't know anything about that interface. Do you have a GSM operator that supports message exchange with the iDEN operator? If so, use a GSM modem connected to the GSM operator. -bn |
