Hi I do not have a GSM Modem but I want to use my NOkia 6610 as one and Can I use the IR port of my laptop instead of COM?

Do let me know if this can be done?

I have seen other people using the 6610 as a GSM modem using a USB cable.

According to the Nokia web site, it should also work with Infrared. However, there are modem drivers that you must download and install on your PC.

Go to the Nokia web site, find the page for the 6610. Select Support & Software, and follow the software links until you see an option to download modem drivers.
