Hello,
We are noticing a strange situation regarding some (not all) delivery reports with "rejected" status.
Although our application has processed them as "rejected", they don't seem to exist in the sms-in.log
Our application checks the .rec file and updates the database table with delivered or failed status and also the date and time of the delivery. It is therefore impossible for our application to update this table without prior process of the actual delivery report (.rec file).
Any idea why this is happening? How is it possible to receive and process delivery reports with them not appearing in the SMS-in.log?
Note that this is only happening with some delivery reports with "rejected" status. |

Hi Nikos,
These messages were probably rejected by the SMSC at the submission level.
In other words, the SMSC rejected the message immediately when we tried to submit it.
In this case, NowSMS generates the non-delivery receipt, so it doesn't really come in from the SMSC.
An argument could be made that we should still write it to the log file.
But in any event, I suspect this is the scenario that is producing these mysterious receipts.

Hello Des, we would really appreciate if there was an option to still write it to the log file, in order for the .rec file to be created and thus our application properly process it.
Do you think that this is something easily done and including it in a patch, hopefully in the near future?  |

Hi Nikos,
The update that I referenced in the other thread also logs these non-delivery receipts to the SMSIN log. (http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsmsupdate.zip)
