Have my phone connected with data cable, I have queried my phone modem through XP and it works, but when nowsms try's to connect it says error initialising modem(z.
is there something im doing wrong |

Hi Matthew,
Apologies for the delay responding back to you.
When you query the modem via XP, you are querying through a named modem driver. Are you using that same modem driver with NowSMS, or are you trying to go direct to the COM port by selecting the COM port name? (Try both techniques.)
The "Error initialising modem --" message is displayed if we cannot get an "OK" response to an ATZ command. So that is a pretty basic test. Is there any text after the "--" in the error message? |

I don't have a GX10i, but usually you need some sort of driver when using a modem over infrared.
Searching the Sharp web site, at http://www.sharp.co.uk, I found a page for downloading drivers and manuals for the GX10i at the following URL:

Assuming that you are on Vodafone in the UK, go to http://mmsota.vizzavi.co.uk to provision your GX10i for Vodafone Live settings. |
