Hello, I was testing the nowsms with the mc35i siemens modem and all was working fine. This morning I try to use the modem and I get the following messages:
Unable to access modem at com1: --Error 5-- access denied. another application is using this device
Then:
Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests
and finally
modem is not functionning properly. It will be removed from the selected list.
Anyone has an idea of how I can solve this problem?

Hi Chris,
This error indicates that some other software has opened a connection to the modem.
As a first suggestion, I would suggest that you reboot.
If the problem persists, then you need to do some investigation to determine what application is opening a connection to the modem by shutting down non-essential applications and services. Of course, I'd suggest starting this process by looking for communications oriented applications.
