Hello, We have a registered copy of NowSMS 2006. We would like to use NowSMS in a production test environment. I have been in contact with Lisa Smith and she suggested I post the question here. Can you tell me if the scenario in the attached picture is possible and if it is accurate? Lisa had mentioned some issues with CDMA modems, and suggested you have tested with Multitech, which is depicted in the picture for use with Sprint and Verizon. Any details are appreciated. Regards, Jeff

Hi Jeff, The only comment that I would have is that it is not possible to run multiple instances of NowSMS on the same PC. It is possible to connect multiple modems to the same instance of NowSMS. -bn |

Hi Jeff, what are your settings on the Sprint modem? We are about to try their Novotel modem this week. Thanks. |

The Multitech CDMA modems support a subset of the standard GSM "AT command" set for sending/receiving SMS. However, there is no similar standard actually defined for the CDMA environment. So I'm not sure if the Novatel CDMA modem actually supports these commands in a similar way ... or if they have defined a proprietary alternative ... or it is quite possible that their CDMA modem is defined for internet data connectivity only, not SMS. Unfortunately, there is no detailed technical information on the Novatel web site. -bn |
