Greetings all, I've read the docs and discussions but have not found an answer for my question. On the SMSC side of things: We have a few network opperators here all working on the same bases: (this is SMPP over TCP/IP) a test account (send and receive SM's) a premium rated 'long number' (send and receive SM's) a premium rated short code (RECEIVE ONLY) The premium rated connections each has a bulk of 10 numbers (eg +xxxxxx0 up to xxxxxx9)this is for long and short codes. So my question is as follow: How do i specify an INCOMING sm (after being passed by the 2-way) to use a specific PREMUIM long number(according to service provider). Regards and thanks justme} |

i was just re-reading my post and i think i can also ask it in another manner: how do i specify with which SMSC i wish to send the SM from AND can i specify a MSISDN that it must 'add' to the outgoing SM... Does this make more sence ? |

so.. there we are almost 9 hours later, just to learn another trick, it seems that you can not create a 'receive only' smpp connection. in the dialogue box if you leave the 'server port' open it says 'Field Missing' (even if you specify a send and receive port in the advance section) so when it connects to the smpp bind it is refused because it is seen as a sender/receiver and not a receiver... hmmm that kept me busy for the day... i also tried editing the smsgw.ini but no luck, lack of concentration, and have read more today than in the past 5years... so... how do you create a smpp connection that ONLY receives? |

Hi, If you want to create a receive-only SMPP connection, make sure "Support any outbound message traffic" is NOT checked, and that the "Preferred SMSC Connection" list is empty. -bn P.S. - This does require v5.51b or later, so if you have the original v5.51 release, download http://www.nowsms.com/download/latestpatch.zip for this support. |

If you still have this question, the following link should explain it: http://www.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/11908.html Also, if you need to use a specific sender address for an SMPP connection, UNcheck "Allow Sender Address Override" in the SMPP connection definition. -bn
