When i try to add the MC35i using direct COM1 with my TDC (danish phone company) sim card there is no problems what so ever... When i change the sim card to SONOFON (another danish phone company) the modem fails to be added. I have tried both direct COM1 and thrugh a modem driver... Is NowSMS known to have issues with certan SIM cards, or can i rule it out and need another modem ??? |

Hi Simon, I can't see why a SIM card would be an issue. Unless the modem was locked to a particular provider (which I have not seen before with any external GSM modems) ... or unless there is a PIN code configured on the SIM. Put the SIM card into a phone, and if a PIN is present remove it. (NowSMS cannot initialise some modems if the SIM card has a PIN, even if you configure the PIN in NowSMS ... as some modems just react differently to the presence of a PIN.) Also, verify that you can send an SMS with that SIM in a mobile phone. -bn |
