We're using NowSMS here to send WAP Push messages over SMPP. We would very much like to know before sending (or very soon after), if the handset is capable of receiving and opening WAP Push messages. Our current solution is simply to monitor the web server so that when the hanset connects to the URL, then we mark that handset as "push capable". However, the converse is not necessarily true.
I'm wondering if there is a better solution. Are there any creative solutions to figuring out if a handset is push capable before sending a message to it?
